⁴ When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born.

²⁶ So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on.

²⁶ Those who heard this asked, “Who then can be saved?”

⁵² When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him, “Yesterday, at one in the afternoon, the fever left him.”

²⁴ Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, “Ask him which one he means.”

⁷ They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: “By what power or what name did you do this?”

¹⁸ They called out, asking if Simon who was known as Peter was staying there.

²⁹ So when I was sent for, I came without raising any objection. May I ask why you sent for me?”

³³ The commander came up and arrested him and ordered him to be bound^(A) with two^(B) chains.^(C) Then he asked who he was and what he had done.

¹⁹ The commander took the young man by the hand, drew him aside and asked, “What is it you want to tell me?”

²⁰ He said: “Some Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul before the Sanhedrin^(A) tomorrow on the pretext of wanting more accurate information about him.^(B)
