⁷Then he took the Book of the Covenant^(A) and read it to the people. They responded, “We will do everything the Lord has said; we will obey.”^(B)

⁸Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people^(C) and said, “This is the blood of the covenant^(D) that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”

⁹Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders^(E) of Israel went up ¹⁰and saw^(F) the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of lapis lazuli,^(G) as bright blue as the sky.^(H) ¹¹But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw^(I) God, and they ate and drank.^(J)

⁶On this mountain^(A) the Lord Almighty will prepare
    a feast^(B) of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine—
    the best of meats and the finest of wines.^(C)
⁷On this mountain he will destroy
    the shroud^(D) that enfolds all peoples,^(E)
the sheet that covers all nations;
⁸    he will swallow up death^(F) forever.
The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears^(G)
    from all faces;
he will remove his people’s disgrace^(H)
    from all the earth.
The Lord has spoken.^(I)

“Surely this is our God;^(K)
we trusted^(L) in him, and he saved^(M) us.
