18 Truly, I say to you, (A)whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed[a] in heaven. 19 Again I say to you, if two of you (B)agree on earth about anything they ask, (C)it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are (D)gathered in my name, (E)there am I among them.”

  2. Matthew 18:18 Or will have been

10 (A)Also it was I who brought you up out of the land of Egypt
(B)and led you forty years in the wilderness,
(C)to possess the land of the Amorite.
11 And I raised up some of your sons for prophets,
and some of your young men for (D)Nazirites.
Is it not indeed so, O people of Israel?”
declares the Lord.

12 “But you made the Nazirites (E)drink wine,
    and commanded the prophets,
    saying, (F)‘You shall not prophesy.’

13 “Behold, I will press you down in your place,
as a cart full of sheaves presses down.
14 (G)Flight shall perish from the swift,
(H)and the strong shall not retain his strength,
    (I)nor shall the mighty save his life;
15 he who handles the bow shall not stand,
and he who is (J)swift of foot shall not save himself,
    (K)nor shall he who rides the horse save his life;
16 and he who is stout of heart among the mighty
shall flee away naked in that day,”
declares the Lord.

Israel's Guilt and Punishment

(L)Hear this word that the Lord has spoken against you, O people of Israel, against the whole family that I brought up out of the land of Egypt:

10 I brought you up out of Egypt(A)
and led(B) you forty years in the wilderness(C)
to give you the land of the Amorites.(D)

11 “I also raised up prophets(E) from among your children
and Nazirites(F) from among your youths.
Is this not true, people of Israel?”
declares the Lord.
12 “But you made the Nazirites drink wine
and commanded the prophets not to prophesy.(G)

13 “Now then, I will crush you
as a cart crushes when loaded with grain.(H)
14 The swift will not escape,(I)
the strong(J) will not muster their strength,
and the warrior will not save his life.(K)
15 The archer(L) will not stand his ground,
the fleet-footed soldier will not get away,
and the horseman(M) will not save his life.(N)
16 Even the bravest warriors(O)
will flee naked on that day,”
declares the Lord.
