Jesus Foretells His Death

^21 (A)From that time ^[a]Jesus began to ^[b]point out to His disciples that it was necessary for Him to go to Jerusalem and to ^(B)suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised up on the third day.

² looking only at Jesus, the ^[a](A)originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him ^(B)endured the cross, ^(C)despising the shame, and has ^(D)sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

³ For ^(E)consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary ^[b](F)and lose heart.
