And the disciples came to the other side and forgot to take [a]bread. And Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees. And they reasoned among themselves, saying, [b]We took no [c]bread. And Jesus perceiving it said, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have no [d]bread? Do ye not yet perceive, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many [e]baskets ye took up? 10 Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many [f]baskets ye took up? 11 How is it that ye do not perceive that I spake not to you concerning [g]bread? They discussed this among themselves and said, “It is because we didn’t bring any bread.”

Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked, “You of little faith,(B) why are you talking among yourselves about having no bread? Do you still not understand? Don’t you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered?(C) 10 Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered?(D) 11 How is it you don’t understand that I was not talking to you about bread? But be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” 12 Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.(E)
