The Pharisees and Sadducees Test Jesus

16 ^(A)And the ^(B)Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him, they ^(C)asked Him to show them ^[a]a sign from heaven.

^11 (A)And the Pharisees came out and began to argue with Him, ^(B)seeking from Him ^[a]a sign from heaven, testing Him. ^12 (C)And sighing deeply ^[b]in His spirit, He *said, “Why does this generation seek ^[c]a sign? Truly I say to you, ^[d](D)no ^[e]sign will be given to this generation.”

¹⁶ And others, testing Him, ^(A)were seeking from Him ^[a]a sign from heaven.

^18 (A)The Jews then said to Him, “^(B)What sign do You show us ^[a]as your authority for doing these things?”

³⁰ So they said to Him, “^(A)What then do You do for a ^(B)sign so that we may see, and believe You? What work do You perform?

²² For indeed ^(A)Jews ask for ^[a]signs and Greeks search for wisdom,
