²⁶But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, ^(A)they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” and they cried out in fear.

²⁶When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,”^(A) they said, and cried out in fear.

²⁶And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

⁴⁹but when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out,

⁴⁹but when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost.^(A) They cried out,
