²³When he sent them away, he went up onto a mountain by himself to pray. Evening came and he was alone.

New International Version

²³After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray.^(A) Later that night, he was there alone,

³⁵Early in the morning, well before sunrise, Jesus rose and went to a deserted place where he could be alone in prayer.

³⁵Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.^(B)

¹⁵Jesus understood that they were about to come and force him to be their king, so he took refuge again, alone on a mountain.

¹⁵Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king^(A) by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself.^(B)
