¹⁷ Beware of them, because they will hand you over to local courts^[a] and flog you in their synagogues.^(A)

Persecutions Predicted

⁹ “But you, be on your guard! They will hand you over to local courts,^[a](A) and you will be flogged^(B) in the synagogues.^(C) You will stand before governors and kings^(D) because of me,^(E) as a witness^(F) to them.^(G)

¹⁸ So they called for them and ordered them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.
