Jesus hat die Macht, Sünden zu vergeben (Markus 2,1‒12; Lukas 5,17‒26)
9 Jesus stieg in ein Boot und fuhr über den See zurück nach Kapernaum, wo er wohnte. 2 Dort brachten sie einen Gelähmten auf einer Trage zu ihm. Als Jesus ihren festen Glauben sah, sagte er zu dem Gelähmten: »Du kannst unbesorgt sein, mein Sohn! Deine Sünden sind dir vergeben.«
3 »Das ist Gotteslästerung!«, dachten sich einige Schriftgelehrte. 4 Jesus durchschaute sie und fragte: »Warum tragt ihr so böse Gedanken in euch? 5 Ist es denn leichter zu sagen: ›Dir sind deine Sünden vergeben‹, oder diesen Gelähmten zu heilen[a]? 6 Aber ich will euch beweisen, dass der Menschensohn die Vollmacht hat, hier auf der Erde Sünden zu vergeben.« Und er forderte den Gelähmten auf: »Steh auf, nimm deine Trage und geh nach Hause!« 7 Da stand der Mann auf und ging nach Hause. 8 Als die Leute das sahen, erschraken sie. Sie lobten Gott, der den Menschen eine solche Macht gegeben hat.
Der Zolleinnehmer Matthäus (Markus 2,13‒17; Lukas 5,27‒32)
9 Als Jesus weiterging, sah er einen Mann am Zoll sitzen. Er hieß Matthäus. Jesus forderte ihn auf: »Komm, folge mir nach!« Sofort stand Matthäus auf und ging mit ihm.
10 Später war Jesus mit seinen Jüngern bei Matthäus zu Gast. Matthäus hatte auch viele Zolleinnehmer und andere Leute mit schlechtem Ruf zum Essen eingeladen. 11 Als die Pharisäer das sahen, fragten sie seine Jünger: »Weshalb gibt sich euer Lehrer mit solchen Sündern und Betrügern ab?« 12 Jesus hörte das und antwortete: »Die Gesunden brauchen keinen Arzt, sondern die Kranken! 13 Begreift doch endlich, was Gott meint, wenn er sagt: ›Wenn jemand barmherzig ist, so ist mir das lieber als irgendwelche Opfer und Gaben.‹[b] Ich bin gekommen, um Sünder in die Gemeinschaft mit Gott zu rufen, und nicht solche, die sich sowieso für gut genug halten.[c]«
Neue Formen für das neue Leben (Markus 2,18‒22; Lukas 5,33‒39)
14 An einem anderen Tag kamen die Jünger des Johannes zu Jesus und erkundigten sich: »Wir und auch die Pharisäer fasten regelmäßig. Warum tun deine Jünger das eigentlich nicht?« 15 Jesus fragte: »Sollen die Hochzeitsgäste denn traurig sein und fasten, solange der Bräutigam noch bei ihnen ist? Die Zeit kommt früh genug, dass der Bräutigam ihnen genommen wird. Dann werden sie fasten.
16 Niemand flickt ein altes Kleid mit einem neuen Stück Stoff. Der alte Stoff würde an der Flickstelle doch wieder reißen, und das Loch würde nur noch größer. 17 Ebenso füllt niemand jungen, gärenden Wein in alte, brüchige Schläuche. Sonst platzen sie. Dann läuft der Wein aus, und die Schläuche sind unbrauchbar. Nein, jungen Wein füllt man in neue Schläuche! Nur so bleibt beides erhalten.«
Macht über Krankheit und Tod (Markus 5,21‒43; Lukas 8,40‒56)
18 Als Jesus noch mit ihnen redete, kam ein Vorsteher der jüdischen Gemeinde zu ihm, warf sich vor ihm nieder und sagte: »Meine Tochter ist gerade gestorben. Aber komm doch und leg deine Hände auf sie! Dann wird sie wieder lebendig.«
19 Jesus stand auf und folgte dem Mann zu seinem Haus. Die Jünger gingen ebenfalls mit.
20 Unterwegs berührte eine Frau, die seit zwölf Jahren an starken Blutungen litt, von hinten heimlich ein Stück[d] seines Gewandes. 21 Denn sie dachte: »Wenn ich wenigstens seine Kleider berühren kann, werde ich bestimmt gesund.« 22 Jesus drehte sich um, sah sie an und sagte: »Du kannst unbesorgt sein, meine Tochter! Dein Glaube hat dich geheilt.« Im selben Augenblick war die Frau gesund.
23 Schließlich kam Jesus zum Haus des Vorstehers. Als er die Trauermusik hörte und die vielen aufgeregten Leute sah, 24 sagte er: »Geht alle hinaus! Das Mädchen ist nicht gestorben, es schläft nur.« Da lachten sie ihn aus. 25 Als die Leute endlich hinausgetrieben waren, trat Jesus in das Zimmer des Mädchens und nahm die Hand des Kindes. Da stand das Mädchen auf und war gesund. 26 Die Nachricht davon verbreitete sich wie ein Lauffeuer in der ganzen Gegend.
Blinde sehen
27 Als Jesus weiterging, liefen ihm zwei Blinde nach und schrien: »Du Sohn Davids, hab Erbarmen mit uns!« 28 Sie folgten ihm bis in das Haus, in dem er wohnte. Jesus fragte sie: »Glaubt ihr denn, dass ich euch helfen kann?« »Ja, Herr!«, antworteten sie. 29 Da berührte er ihre Augen und sagte: »Was ihr mir zutraut, das soll geschehen!« 30 Sofort konnten sie sehen. Jesus aber befahl ihnen nachdrücklich: »Niemand darf von eurer Heilung erfahren!« 31 Trotzdem gingen sie los und erzählten in der ganzen Gegend von Jesus.
Jesus heilt: Der Widerstand wächst
32 Als die beiden gegangen waren, brachte man einen Stummen zu ihm, der von einem bösen Geist beherrscht wurde. 33 Jesus trieb diesen Dämon aus, und sofort konnte der Mann reden. Darüber wunderten sich die Leute sehr und riefen: »So etwas haben wir in Israel noch nie erlebt!«
34 Aber die Pharisäer redeten auf sie ein: »Er hat seine Macht vom Obersten aller Dämonen bekommen, nur darum kann er die Menschen von Dämonen befreien.«
Jesus hat Mitleid mit den Menschen (Markus 6,34; Lukas 10,2)
35 Danach zog Jesus durch alle Städte und Dörfer in dieser Gegend. Er lehrte in den Synagogen und verkündete überall im Land die rettende Botschaft von Gottes Reich. Wohin er auch kam, heilte er die Kranken und Leidenden. 36 Als er die vielen Menschen sah, hatte er Mitleid mit ihnen, denn sie waren erschöpft und hilflos wie Schafe, die keinen Hirten haben.
37 »Die Ernte ist groß, aber es gibt nur wenige Arbeiter«, sagte Jesus zu seinen Jüngern. 38 »Darum bittet den Herrn, dass er noch mehr Arbeiter aussendet, die seine Ernte einbringen.«

2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.
4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.
7 And he arose, and departed to his house.
8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
14 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?
15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
16 No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
18 While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
19 And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.
20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:
21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
23 And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
24 He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.
25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
26 And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.
27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us.
28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.
31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.
33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
34 But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.
35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Jesús sana a un paralítico(A)
9 Subió Jesús a una barca, cruzó al otro lado y llegó a su propio pueblo. 2 Unos hombres le llevaron un paralítico acostado en una camilla. Al ver la fe de ellos Jesús dijo al paralítico:
—¡Ánimo, hijo, tus pecados quedan perdonados!
3 Algunos de los maestros de la Ley murmuraron entre ellos: «¡Este hombre blasfema!».
4 Como Jesús conocía sus pensamientos, les dijo:
—¿Por qué dan lugar a tan malos pensamientos? 5 ¿Qué es más fácil, decirle: “Tus pecados quedan perdonados” o decirle: “Levántate y anda”? 6 Pues, para que sepan que el Hijo del hombre tiene autoridad en la tierra para perdonar pecados —se dirigió entonces al paralítico—: Levántate, toma tu camilla y vete a tu casa.
7 Y el hombre se levantó y se fue a su casa. 8 Al ver esto, la multitud se llenó de temor y glorificó a Dios por haber dado tal autoridad a los mortales.
Llamamiento de Mateo(B)
9 Al irse de allí, Jesús vio a un hombre llamado Mateo, sentado a la mesa de recaudación de impuestos. «Sígueme» —dijo Jesús. Y Mateo se levantó y lo siguió.
10 Mientras Jesús estaba a la mesa en casa de Mateo, muchos recaudadores de impuestos y pecadores llegaron y comieron con él y sus discípulos. 11 Cuando los fariseos vieron esto, preguntaron a sus discípulos:
—¿Por qué come su maestro con recaudadores de impuestos y con pecadores?
12 Al oír esto, Jesús contestó:
—No son los sanos los que necesitan médico, sino los enfermos. 13 Pero vayan y aprendan qué significa esto: “Lo que pido de ustedes es misericordia y no sacrificios”.[a] Porque no he venido a llamar a justos, sino a pecadores.[b]
Preguntan a Jesús sobre el ayuno(C)
14 Un día se acercaron los discípulos de Juan y le preguntaron:
—¿Cómo es que nosotros y los fariseos ayunamos, pero no así tus discípulos?
15 Jesús contestó:
—¿Acaso pueden estar de luto los invitados del novio mientras él está con ellos? Llegará el día en que se les quitará el novio; entonces sí ayunarán. 16 Nadie remienda un vestido viejo con un retazo de tela nueva, porque el remiendo fruncirá el vestido y la rotura se hará peor. 17 Ni tampoco se echa vino nuevo en recipientes de cuero viejo. De hacerlo así, se reventará el cuero, se derramará el vino y los recipientes se arruinarán. Más bien, el vino nuevo se echa en recipientes de cuero nuevo y así ambos se conservan.
Una niña muerta y una mujer enferma(D)
18 Mientras les decía esto, un dirigente judío llegó, se arrodilló delante de él y dijo:
—Mi hija acaba de morir. Pero ven, pon tu mano sobre ella y vivirá.
19 Jesús se levantó y fue con él, acompañado de sus discípulos. 20 En esto, una mujer que hacía doce años padecía de hemorragias se le acercó por detrás y tocó el borde de su manto. 21 Pensaba: «Si al menos logro tocar su manto, quedaré sana». 22 Jesús se dio vuelta, la vio y dijo:
—¡Ánimo, hija! Tu fe te ha sanado.
Y la mujer quedó sana en aquel momento.
23 Cuando Jesús entró en la casa del dirigente y vio a los flautistas y el alboroto de la gente, 24 dijo:
—Váyanse. La niña no está muerta, sino dormida.
Entonces empezaron a burlarse de él. 25 Cuando se les hizo salir, entró él, tomó de la mano a la niña y esta se levantó. 26 La noticia se divulgó por toda aquella región.
Jesús sana a los ciegos y a los mudos
27 Al irse Jesús de allí, dos ciegos lo siguieron, gritándole:
—¡Ten compasión de nosotros, Hijo de David!
28 Cuando entró en la casa, se acercaron los ciegos y él les preguntó:
—¿Creen que puedo sanarlos?
—Sí, Señor —respondieron.
29 Entonces tocó sus ojos y dijo:
—Que se haga con ustedes conforme a su fe.
30 Y recobraron la vista. Jesús les advirtió con firmeza:
—Asegúrense de que nadie se entere de esto.
31 Pero ellos salieron para divulgar por toda aquella región la noticia acerca de Jesús.
32 Mientras ellos salían, le llevaron un mudo endemoniado. 33 Así que Jesús expulsó al demonio y el que había estado mudo habló. La gente quedó asombrada y decía: «Jamás se ha visto nada igual en Israel».
34 Pero los fariseos decían: «Este expulsa a los demonios por medio del príncipe de los demonios».
Son pocos los obreros
35 Jesús recorría todos los pueblos y aldeas enseñando en las sinagogas, anunciando las buenas noticias del reino, y sanando toda enfermedad y toda dolencia. 36 Al ver a las multitudes, tuvo compasión de ellas, porque estaban agobiadas y desamparadas, como ovejas sin pastor. 37 «La cosecha es abundante, pero son pocos los obreros —dijo a sus discípulos—. 38 Por tanto, pidan al Señor de la cosecha que envíe obreros a su campo».
