Predigt Johannes des Täufers
3 In jenen Tagen aber erscheint Johannes der Täufer und predigt in der Wüste des jüdischen Landes[a] 2 und spricht: Tut Buße, denn das Himmelreich ist nahe herbeigekommen! 3 Das ist der, von welchem gesagt ist durch den Propheten Jesaja, der da spricht:
“Eine Stimme ruft in der Wüste: Bereitet den Weg des Herrn, machet seine Pfade eben !“
4 Er aber, Johannes, hatte ein Kleid von Kamelhaaren und einen ledernen Gürtel um seine Lenden; und seine Speise waren Heuschrecken und wilder Honig. 5 Da zog zu ihm hinaus Jerusalem und ganz Judäa und die ganze umliegende Landschaft des Jordan, 6 und es wurden von ihm getauft im Jordan, die ihre Sünden bekannten.
7 Als er aber viele von den Pharisäern und Sadduzäern zu seiner Taufe kommen sah, sprach er zu ihnen: Schlangenbrut, wer hat euch unterwiesen, dem zukünftigen Zorn zu entfliehen? 8 So bringet nun Frucht, die der Buße würdig ist! 9 Und denket nicht bei euch selbst, sagen zu können: Wir haben Abraham zum Vater. Denn ich sage euch, Gott vermag dem Abraham aus diesen Steinen Kinder zu erwecken. 10 Es ist aber schon die Axt an die Wurzel der Bäume gelegt. Ein jeder Baum nun, der nicht gute Frucht bringt, wird abgehauen und ins Feuer geworfen.
11 Ich taufe euch mit Wasser zur Buße; der aber nach mir kommt, ist stärker als ich, so daß ich nicht gut genug bin, ihm die Schuhe zu tragen; der wird euch im heiligen Geist und mit Feuer taufen. 12 Er hat die Wurfschaufel in seiner Hand und wird seine Tenne gründlich reinigen und seinen Weizen in die Scheune sammeln; die Spreu aber wird er verbrennen mit unauslöschlichem Feuer.

13 Da kommt Jesus aus Galiläa an den Jordan zu Johannes, um sich von ihm taufen zu lassen. 14 Er aber wehrte es ihm und sprach: Ich habe nötig, von dir getauft zu werden, und du kommst zu mir? 15 Jesus aber antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Laß es jetzt zu; denn also gebührt es uns, alle Gerechtigkeit zu erfüllen! Da ließ er es ihm zu.
16 Und da Jesus getauft war, stieg er alsbald aus dem Wasser; und siehe, da tat sich der Himmel auf, und er sah den Geist Gottes wie eine Taube herabsteigen und auf ihn kommen. 17 Und siehe, eine Stimme [kam] vom Himmel, die sprach: Dies ist mein lieber Sohn, an dem ich Wohlgefallen habe!

3 那时，施洗的约翰出来，在犹太的旷野传道， 2 说：“天国近了，你们应当悔改。” 3 以赛亚先知所说：
“在旷野有呼喊者的声音：
‘预备主的道，
修直他的路！’”
就是指着这约翰说的。 4 约翰身穿骆驼毛的衣服，腰束皮带，吃的是蝗虫和野蜜。 5 耶路撒冷、犹太全地和约旦河一带的人都出来到他那里去， 6 承认自己的罪，在约旦河里受了他的洗。
7 约翰看见许多法利赛人和撒都该人来到他施洗的地方，就对他们说：“毒蛇所生的啊，谁指示你们逃避那将要来的忿怒呢？ 8 应当结出果子来，与悔改的心相称。 9 你们心里不要以为：‘我们有亚伯拉罕作我们的祖宗。’我告诉你们， 神能从这些石头中给亚伯拉罕兴起后裔来。 10 现在斧头已经放在树根上，所有不结好果子的树，就砍下来，丢在火里。 11 我用水给你们施洗，表示你们悔改；但在我以后要来的那一位，能力比我更大，我就是替他提鞋也没有资格。他要用圣灵与火给你们施洗。 12 他手里拿着簸箕，要扬净麦场，把麦子收进仓里，却用不灭的火把糠秕烧尽。”

13 那时，耶稣从加利利来到约旦河约翰那里，要受他的洗。 14 约翰想要阻止他，说：“我应该受你的洗，你却到我这里来吗？” 15 耶稣回答：“暂且这样作吧。我们理当这样履行全部的义。”于是约翰答应了他。 16 耶稣受了洗，立刻从水中上来；忽然，天为他开了，他看见 神的灵，好象鸽子降下来，落在他身上； 17 又有声音从天上来，说：“这是我的爱子，我所喜悦的。”

3 Now in those days Yochanan of the tevilah of teshuva appears, preaching, crying out as a maggid (preacher) [for the Moshiach] in the midbar (wilderness) of Yehudah,
2 saying, Make teshuva, for the Malchut HaShomayim has come near.
3 For this [Yochanan] is the one spoken of through Yeshayah the Navi, saying, KOL KOREY BAMIDBAR (A voice of one shouting in the wilderness, Isa 40:3): Prepare the Derech Hashem (the way of the L-rd). Make his paths straight!
4 Now Yochanan himself had camel-hair clothing and a leather belt around his waist, and his food was arbe (locusts) and devash (wild honey).
5 Then all Yerushalayim and all Yehudah and the whole region of the Yarden were going out to him.
6 Making vidduy (confession of sin) [to Hashem] of their averos (sins), they were submitted to a tevilah (immersion) by him, using the Yarden River as a mikveh mayim (gathering of water).
7 But when he saw many of the Perushim and Tzedukim coming to where he was using the Yarden as a mikveh mayim, Yochanan said to them, You banim (sons) of nachashim (snakes)! Who warned you to flee from the charon af [Hashem] habah (the coming burning wrath of Hashem)?
8 Produce pri tov l’teshuva (fruit worthy of repentance)!
9 Do not presume to say to yourselves, We have the yichus (proud lineage), we have the zechut Avot (merit of the Fathers) of Avraham Avinu (our father Abraham). For I say to you that Hashem is able to raise up from these avanim (stones) banim (sons) of Avraham.
10 And already the ax is laid at the shoresh haetzim (the root of the trees); therefore, every etz not producing pri tov (good fruit) is cut down and thrown into the eish (fire).
11 I give you a tevilah (immersion) in a mikveh mayim for teshuva, but Hu Habah (He who Comes; T.N. i.e., the Moshiach) after me has more chozek (strength) than me. I am not worthy to remove his sandals. He will give you a tevilah (immersion) with the Ruach Hakodesh and eish (fire).
12 The winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear out his threshing floor, and he will gather his wheat into the storehouse; but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable eish (fire).
13 Then Yehoshua comes from the Galil to the Yarden to Yochanan, to submit to Yochanan’s tevilah.
14 But Yochanan would have deterred him, saying, I have need to submit to your tevilah [T.N. i.e., Moshiach’s tevilah], and yet you come to me?
15 But answering him, Yehoshua said, Permit it now, for thus it is proper to fulfill all Tzidkat Hashem [Dan 9:24].
16 And having received the tevilah in the Yarden’s mikveh mayim, Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach immediately came up. And, hinei! The Shomayim were opened to him, and he saw the Ruach Hakodesh of Hashem descending like a yonah (dove) and coming upon him.
17 And, hinei, a bat kol (a voice from heaven) came out of Shomayim, saying, ZEH BNI AHUVI ASHER BO CHAFATZTI (This is my Son, the beloved, with whom I am well pleased).
