17 Und nach sechs Tagen nahm Jesus zu sich Petrus und Jakobus und Johannes, seinen Bruder, und führte sie beiseits auf einen hohen Berg.
2 Und er ward verklärt vor ihnen, und sein Angesicht leuchtete wie die Sonne, und seine Kleider wurden weiß wie ein Licht.
3 Und siehe, da erschienen ihnen Mose und Elia; die redeten mit ihm.
4 Petrus aber antwortete und sprach zu Jesu: HERR, hier ist gut sein! Willst du, so wollen wir hier drei Hütten machen: dir eine, Mose eine und Elia eine.
5 Da er noch also redete, siehe, da überschattete sie eine lichte Wolke. Und siehe, eine Stimme aus der Wolke sprach: Dies ist mein lieber Sohn, an welchem ich Wohlgefallen habe, den sollt ihr hören!
6 Da das die Jünger hörten, fielen sie auf ihr Angesicht und erschraken sehr.
7 Jesus aber trat zu ihnen, rührte sie an und sprach: Stehet auf und fürchtet euch nicht!
8 Da sie aber ihre Augen aufhoben, sahen sie niemand denn Jesum allein.
9 Und da sie vom Berge herabgingen, gebot ihnen Jesus und sprach: Ihr sollt dies Gesicht niemand sagen, bis das des Menschen Sohn von den Toten auferstanden ist.
10 Und seine Jünger fragten ihn und sprachen: Was sagen denn die Schriftgelehrten, Elia müsse zuvor kommen?
11 Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Elia soll ja zuvor kommen und alles zurechtbringen.
12 Doch ich sage euch: Es ist Elia schon gekommen, und sie haben ihn nicht erkannt, sondern haben an ihm getan, was sie wollten. Also wird auch des Menschen Sohn leiden müssen von ihnen.
13 Da verstanden die Jünger, daß er von Johannes dem Täufer zu ihnen geredet hatte.
14 Und da sie zu dem Volk kamen, trat zu ihm ein Mensch und fiel ihm zu Füßen
15 und sprach: HERR, erbarme dich über meinen Sohn! denn er ist mondsüchtig und hat ein schweres Leiden: er fällt oft ins Feuer und oft ins Wasser;
16 und ich habe ihn zu deinen Jüngern gebracht, und sie konnten ihm nicht helfen.
17 Jesus aber antwortete und sprach: O du ungläubige und verkehrte Art, wie lange soll ich bei euch sein? wie lange soll ich euch dulden? Bringt ihn hierher!
18 Und Jesus bedrohte ihn; und der Teufel fuhr aus von ihm, und der Knabe ward gesund zu derselben Stunde.
19 Da traten zu ihm seine Jünger besonders und sprachen: Warum konnten wir ihn nicht austreiben?
20 Jesus aber antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Um eures Unglaubens willen. Denn wahrlich ich sage euch: So ihr Glauben habt wie ein Senfkorn, so mögt ihr sagen zu diesem Berge: Hebe dich von hinnen dorthin! so wird er sich heben; und euch wird nichts unmöglich sein.
21 Aber diese Art fährt nicht aus denn durch Beten und Fasten.
22 Da sie aber ihr Wesen hatten in Galiläa, sprach Jesus zu ihnen: Es wird geschehen, daß des Menschen Sohn überantwortet wird in der Menschen Hände;
23 und sie werden ihn töten, und am dritten Tage wird er auferstehen. Und sie wurden sehr betrübt.
24 Da sie nun gen Kapernaum kamen, gingen zu Petrus, die den Zinsgroschen einnahmen, und sprachen: Pflegt euer Meister nicht den Zinsgroschen zu geben?
25 Er sprach: Ja. Und als er heimkam, kam ihm Jesus zuvor und sprach: Was dünkt dich, Simon? Von wem nehmen die Könige auf Erden den Zoll oder Zins? Von Ihren Kindern oder von den Fremden?
26 Da sprach zu ihm Petrus: Von den Fremden. Jesus sprach zu ihm: So sind die Kinder frei.
27 Auf daß aber wir sie nicht ärgern, so gehe hin an das Meer und wirf die Angel, und den ersten Fisch, der herauffährt, den nimm; und wenn du seinen Mund auftust, wirst du einen Stater finden; den nimm und gib ihnen für mich und dich.

17 După şase zile, Isus i-a luat cu Sine pe Petru, pe Iacov şi pe Ioan, fratele acestuia, şi i-a dus, doar pe ei, pe un munte înalt. 2 Acolo I-a fost schimbată înfăţişarea[a] înaintea lor. 4 Petru I-a zis lui Isus:
– Doamne, este bine să fim aici! Dacă vrei, voi face aici trei corturi: unul pentru Tine, unul pentru Moise şi unul pentru Ilie!
5 În timp ce vorbea el, iată că un nor strălucitor i-a acoperit, iar un glas din nor a zis: „Acesta este Fiul Meu preaiubit, în Care-Mi găsesc plăcerea! De El să ascultaţi![b]“
6 Când au auzit glasul, ucenicii au căzut cu faţa la pământ şi s-au înspăimântat foarte tare. 7 Isus a venit la ei, i-a atins şi le-a zis:
– Ridicaţi-vă şi nu vă temeţi!
8 Când şi-au ridicat privirea, n-au mai văzut pe nimeni, decât pe Isus singur.
9 În timp ce coborau de pe munte, Isus le-a poruncit:
– Să nu spuneţi nimănui despre viziune, până când nu va fi înviat Fiul Omului dintre cei morţi!
10 Ucenicii L-au întrebat:
– Atunci de ce spun cărturarii că trebuie să vină mai întâi Ilie?
11 El le-a răspuns:
– Într-adevăr, Ilie vine, şi el va restaura toate lucrurile. 12 Dar Eu vă spun că Ilie a venit deja, însă ei nu l-au recunoscut, ci au făcut cu el ce-au vrut. Tot aşa urmează să sufere şi Fiul Omului din partea lor.
13 Atunci ucenicii au înţeles că le vorbise despre Ioan Botezătorul.
Ucenicii nu pot vindeca un copil demoniac
14 Când au ajuns la mulţime, un om a venit la El, a îngenuncheat înaintea Lui
15 şi I-a zis:
– Doamne, ai milă de fiul meu, căci este epileptic[c] şi suferă cumplit! El cade adesea în foc şi cade adesea în apă! 16 L-am adus la ucenicii Tăi, dar n-au putut să-l vindece.
17 Isus a răspuns:
– O, generaţie necredincioasă şi pervertită! Până când voi mai fi cu voi? Până când vă voi mai răbda? Aduceţi-l aici la Mine!
18 Isus a certat demonul şi acesta a ieşit afară din el. Şi copilul a fost vindecat chiar în ceasul acela.
19 Atunci ucenicii au venit doar ei la Isus şi L-au întrebat:
– Noi de ce n-am putut să-l scoatem?
20 El le-a răspuns:
– Din pricina puţinei voastre credinţe! Adevărat vă spun că, dacă aţi avea credinţă cât un bob de muştar, aţi zice acestui munte: „Mută-te de aici, acolo!“, iar el s-ar muta! Nimic nu v-ar fi imposibil! 21 (Dar acest soi de demoni nu iese afară decât cu rugăciune şi post.)[d]
Isus vorbeşte din nou despre moartea şi învierea Sa
22 În timp ce erau adunaţi în Galileea, Isus le-a zis: „Fiul Omului urmează să fie trădat în mâinile oamenilor. 23 Ei Îl vor omorî, dar a treia zi va fi înviat“. Ei s-au întristat foarte tare.

24 Când au ajuns în Capernaum, au venit la Petru cei ce încasau didrahma[e] pentru Templu şi l-au întrebat:

– Ce părere ai, Simone? De la cine strâng regii pământului tributuri sau taxe? De la fiii lor sau de la străini?
26 Petru I-a răspuns:
– De la străini.
Isus i-a zis:
– Aşadar, fiii sunt scutiţi. 27 Totuşi, ca să nu-i facem să se poticnească, du-te la mare, aruncă undiţa şi trage afară primul peşte care va veni. Când îi vei deschide gura, vei găsi un stater[f]; ia-l şi dă-li-l lor pentru Mine şi pentru tine!

17 And six days after this, Jesus took with Him Peter and James and John his brother, and led them up on a high mountain by themselves.
2 And His appearance underwent a change in their presence; and His face shone [a]clear and bright like the sun, and His clothing became as white as light.
3 And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, who kept talking with Him.
4 Then Peter began to speak and said to Jesus, Lord, it is good and delightful that we are here; if You approve, I will put up three booths here—one for You and one for Moses and one for Elijah.
5 While he was still speaking, behold, a shining cloud [[b]composed of light] overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, This is My Son, My Beloved, with Whom I am [and [c]have always been] delighted. Listen to Him!(A)
6 When the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were [d]seized with alarm and struck with fear.
7 But Jesus came and touched them and said, Get up, and do not be afraid.
8 And when they raised their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.
9 And as they were going down the mountain, Jesus cautioned and commanded them, Do not mention to anyone what you have seen, until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.
10 The disciples asked Him, Then why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?
11 He replied, Elijah does come and will get everything restored and ready.
12 But I tell you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know or recognize him, but did to him as they liked. So also the Son of Man is going to be treated and suffer at their hands.
13 Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them about John the Baptist.(B)
14 And when they approached the multitude, a man came up to Him, kneeling before Him and saying,
15 Lord, do pity and have mercy on my son, for he has epilepsy (is [e]moonstruck) and he suffers terribly; for frequently he falls into the fire and many times into the water.
16 And I brought him to Your disciples, and they were not able to cure him.
17 And Jesus answered, O you unbelieving ([f]warped, wayward, rebellious) and [g]thoroughly perverse generation! How long am I to remain with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to Me.
18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was cured instantly.
19 Then the disciples came to Jesus and asked privately, Why could we not drive it out?
20 He said to them, Because of the littleness of your faith [that is, your lack of [h]firmly relying trust]. For truly I say to you, if you have faith [[i]that is living] like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to yonder place, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.
21 [j]But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.
22 When they were going about here and there in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of Man is going to be turned over into the hands of men.
23 And they will kill Him, and He will be raised [to life] again on the third day. And they were deeply and exceedingly grieved and distressed.
24 When they arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the half shekel [the temple tax] went up to Peter and said, Does not your Teacher pay the half shekel?(C)
25 He answered, Yes. And when he came home, Jesus spoke to him [about it] first, saying, What do you think, Simon? From whom do earthly rulers collect duties or tribute—from their own sons or from others [k]not of their own family?
26 And when Peter said, From other people [l]not of their own family, Jesus said to him, Then the sons are exempt.
27 However, in order not to give offense and cause them to stumble [that is, to cause them [m]to judge unfavorably and unjustly] go down to the sea and throw in a hook. Take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth you will find there a shekel. Take it and give it to them to pay the temple tax for Me and for yourself.
