6 När ni utövar er rättfärdighet, se då till att ni inte gör det för att människor ska lägga märke till er, för annars har ni ingen lön att vänta från er Fader i himlen. 2 När du ger en gåva till en nödlidande, ropa då inte ut det till andra. Var inte som hycklarna som basunerar ut sina goda gärningar i synagogorna och på gatorna för att få beröm! Sannerligen säger jag er att de redan har fått ut sin lön. 3 Nej, om du hjälper någon, så ska inte din vänstra hand veta vad den högra gör.
