26 När nu Jesus hade talat allt detta till slut, sade han till sina lärjungar:
2 »I veten att det två dagar härefter är påsk; då skall Människosonen bliva förrådd och utlämnad till att korsfästas.»
3 Därefter församlade sig översteprästerna och folkets äldste hos översteprästen, som hette Kaifas, i hans hus,
4 och rådslogo om att låta gripa Jesus med list och döda honom.
5 Men de sade: »Icke under högtiden, för att ej oroligheter skola uppstå bland folket.»
6 Men när Jesus var i Betania, i Simon den spetälskes hus,
7 framträdde till honom en kvinna som hade med sig en alabasterflaska med dyrbar smörjelse; denna göt hon ut över hans huvud, där han låg till bords.
8 Då lärjungarna sågo detta, blevo de misslynta och sade: »Varför skulle detta förspillas?
9 Man hade ju kunnat sälja det för mycket penningar och giva dessa åt de fattiga.»
10 När Jesus märkte detta, sade han till dem: »Varför oroen I kvinnan? Det är en god gärning som hon har gjort mot mig.
11 De fattiga haven I ju alltid ibland eder, men mig haven I icke alltid.
12 När hon göt ut denna smörjelse på min kropp, gjorde hon det såsom en tillredelse till min begravning.
13 Sannerligen säger jag eder: Varhelst i hela världen detta evangelium bliver predikat, där skall ock det som hon nu har gjort bliva omtalat, henne till åminnelse.»
14 Därefter gick en av de tolv, den som hette Judas Iskariot, bort till översteprästerna
15 och sade: »Vad viljen I giva mig för att jag skall överlämna honom åt eder?» Då vägde de upp åt honom trettio silverpenningar.
16 Och från den stunden sökte han efter lägligt tillfälle att förråda honom.
17 Men på första dagen i det osyrade brödets högtid trädde lärjungarna fram till Jesus och frågade: »Var vill du att vi skola reda till åt dig att äta påskalammet?»
18 Han svarade: »Gån in i staden till den och den och sägen till honom: 'Mästaren låter säga: Min tid är nära; hos dig vill jag hålla påskhögtid med mina lärjungar.'»
19 Och lärjungarna gjorde såsom Jesus hade befallt dem och redde till påskalammet.
20 När det nu hade blivit afton, lade han sig till bords med de tolv.
21 Och medan de åto, sade han: »Sannerligen säger jag eder: En av eder skall förråda mig.»
22 Då blevo de mycket bedrövade och begynte fråga honom, var efter annan: »Icke är det väl jag, Herre?»
23 Då svarade han och sade: »Den som jämte mig nu doppade handen i fatet, han skall förråda mig.
24 Människosonen skall gå bort, såsom det är skrivet om honom; men ve den människa genom vilken Människosonen bliver förrådd! Det hade varit bättre för den människan, om hon icke hade blivit född.»
25 Judas, han som förrådde honom, tog då till orda och frågade: »Rabbi, icke är det väl jag?» Han svarade honom: »Du har själv sagt det.»
26 Medan de nu åto, tog Jesus ett bröd och välsignade det och bröt det och gav åt lärjungarna och sade: »Tagen och äten; detta är min lekamen.»
27 Och han tog en kalk och tackade Gud och gav åt dem och sade: »Dricken härav alla;
28 ty detta är mitt blod, förbundsblodet, som varder utgjutet för många till syndernas förlåtelse.
29 Och jag säger eder: Härefter skall jag icke mer dricka av det som kommer från vinträd, förrän på den dag då jag dricker det nytt med eder i min Faders rike.»
30 När de sedan hade sjungit lovsången, gingo de ut till Oljeberget.
31 Då sade Jesus till dem: »I denna natt skolen I alla komma på fall för min skull, ty det är skrivet: 'Jag skall slå herden, och fåren i hjorden skola förskingras.'
32 Men efter min uppståndelse skall jag före eder gå till Galileen.»
33 Då svarade Petrus och sade till honom: »Om än alla andra komma på fall för din skull, så skall dock jag aldrig komma på fall.»
34 Jesus sade till honom: »Sannerligen säger jag dig: I denna natt, förrän hanen har galit, skall du tre gånger förneka mig.»
35 Petrus svarade honom: »Om jag än måste dö med dig, så skall jag dock förvisso icke förneka dig.» Sammalunda sade ock alla de andra lärjungarna.
36 Därefter kom Jesus med dem till ett ställe som hette Getsemane. Och han sade till lärjungarna: »Bliven kvar här, medan jag går dit bort och beder.»
37 Och han tog med sig Petrus och Sebedeus' två söner; och han begynte bedrövas och ängslas.
38 Då sade han till dem: »Min själ är djupt bedrövad, ända till döds; stannen kvar här och vaken med mig.»
39 Därefter gick han litet längre bort och föll ned på sitt ansikte och bad och sade: »Min Fader, om det är möjligt, så gånge denna kalk ifrån mig. Dock icke såsom jag vill, utan såsom du vill!»
40 Sedan kom han tillbaka till lärjungarna och fann dem sovande. Då sade han till Petrus: »Så litet förmådden I då vaka en kort stund med mig!
41 Vaken, och bedjen att I icke mån komma i frestelse. Anden är villig, men köttet är svagt.»
42 Åter gick han bort, för andra gången, och bad och sade: »Min Fader, om detta icke kan gå ifrån mig, utan jag måste dricka denna kalk, så ske din vilja.»
43 När han sedan kom tillbaka, fann han dem åter sovande, ty deras ögon voro förtyngda.
44 Då lät han dem vara och gick åter bort och bad, för tredje gången, och sade återigen samma ord.
45 Därefter kom han tillbaka till lärjungarna och sade till dem: »Ja, I soven ännu alltjämt och vilen eder! Se, stunden är nära då Människosonen skall bliva överlämnad i syndares händer.
46 Stån upp, låt oss gå; se, den är nära, som förråder mig.»
47 Och se, medan han ännu talade, kom Judas, en av de tolv, och jämte honom en stor folkskara, med svärd och stavar, utsänd från översteprästerna och folkets äldste.
48 Men förrädaren hade givit dem ett tecken; han hade sagt: »Den som jag kysser, den är det; honom skolen I gripa.»
49 Och han trädde nu strax fram till Jesus och sade: »Hell dig, rabbi!» och kysste honom häftigt.
50 Jesus sade till honom: »Min vän, gör vad du är här för att göra.» Då stego de fram och grepo Jesus och togo honom fången.
51 Men en av dem som voro med Jesus förde handen till sitt svärd och drog ut det och högg till översteprästens tjänare och högg så av honom örat.
52 Då sade Jesus till honom: »Stick ditt svärd tillbaka i skidan: ty alla som taga till svärd skola förgöras genom svärd.
53 Eller menar du att jag icke kunde utbedja mig av min Fader, att han nu sände till min tjänst mer än tolv legioner änglar?
54 Men huru bleve då skrifterna fullbordade, som säga att så måste ske?»
55 I samma stund sade Jesus till folkskaran: »Såsom mot en rövare haven I gått ut med svärd och stavar för att fasttaga mig. Var dag har jag suttit i helgedomen och undervisat, utan att I haven gripit mig.
56 Men allt detta har skett, för att profeternas skrifter skola fullbordas.» Då övergåvo alla lärjungarna honom och flydde.
57 Men de som hade gripit Jesus förde honom bort till översteprästen Kaifas, hos vilken de skriftlärde och de äldste hade församlat sig.
58 Och Petrus följde honom på avstånd ända till översteprästens gård; där gick han in och satte sig bland rättstjänarna för att se vad slutet skulle bliva.
59 Och översteprästerna och hela Stora rådet sökte efter något falskt vittnesbörd mot Jesus, för att kunna döda honom;
60 men fastän många falska vittnen trädde fram, funno de likväl intet. Slutligen trädde dock två män fram
61 och sade: »Denne har sagt: 'Jag kan bryta ned Guds tempel och på tre dagar bygga upp det igen.'»
62 Då stod översteprästen upp och sade till honom: »Svarar du intet? Huru är det med det som dessa vittna mot dig?»
63 Men Jesus teg. Då sade översteprästen till honom: »Jag besvär dig vid den levande Guden, att du säger oss om du är Messias, Guds Son.»
64 Jesus svarade honom: »Du har själv sagt det. Men jag säger eder: Härefter skolen I få se Människosonen sitta på Maktens högra sida och komma på himmelens skyar.»
65 Då rev översteprästen sönder sina kläder och sade: »Han har hädat. Vad behöva vi mer några vittnen? I haven nu hört hädelsen.
66 Vad synes eder?» De svarade och sade: »Han är skyldig till döden.»
67 Därefter spottade man honom i ansiktet och slog honom på kinderna, den ene med knytnäven, den andre med flata handen,
68 och sade: »Profetera för oss, Messias: vem var det som slog dig?»
69 Men Petrus satt utanför på gården. Då kom en tjänstekvinna fram till honom och sade: »Också du var med Jesus från Galileen.»
70 Men han nekade inför alla och sade: »Jag förstår icke vad du menar.»
71 När han sedan hade kommit ut i porten, fick en annan kvinna se honom och sade till dem som voro där: »Denne var med Jesus från Nasaret.»
72 Åter nekade han med en ed och sade: »Jag känner icke den mannen.»
73 Litet därefter kommo de kringstående fram och sade till Petrus: »Förvisso är också du en av dem; redan ditt uttal röjer dig ju.»
74 Då begynte han förbanna sig och svärja: »Jag känner icke den mannen.» Och i detsamma gol hanen.
75 Då kom Petrus ihåg Jesu ord, huru han hade sagt: »Förrän hanen gal, skall du tre gånger förneka mig.» Och han gick ut och grät bitterligen.

26 Y ACONTECIÓ que, como hubo acabado Jesús todas estas palabras, dijo á sus discípulos:
2 Sabéis que dentro de dos días se hace la pascua, y el Hijo del hombre es entregado para ser crucificado.
3 Entonces los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas, y los ancianos del pueblo se juntaron al patio del pontífice, el cual se llamaba Caifás;
4 Y tuvieron consejo para prender por engaño á Jesús, y matarle.
5 Y decían: No en el día de la fiesta, porque no se haga alboroto en el pueblo.
6 Y estando Jesús en Bethania, en casa de Simón el leproso,
7 Vino á él una mujer, teniendo un vaso de alabastro de ungüento de gran precio, y lo derramó sobre la cabeza de él, estando sentado á la mesa.
8 Lo cual viendo sus discípulos, se enojaron, diciendo: ¿Por qué se pierde esto?
9 Porque esto se podía vender por gran precio, y darse á los pobres.
10 Y entendiéndolo Jesús, les dijo: ¿Por qué dais pena á esta mujer? Pues ha hecho conmigo buena obra.
11 Porque siempre tendréis pobres con vosotros, mas á mí no siempre me tendréis.
12 Porque echando este ungüento sobre mi cuerpo, para sepultarme lo ha hecho.
13 De cierto os digo, que donde quiera que este evangelio fuere predicado en todo el mundo, también será dicho para memoria de ella, lo que ésta ha hecho.
14 Entonces uno de los doce, que se llamaba Judas Iscariote, fué á los príncipes de los sacerdotes,
15 Y les dijo: ¿Qué me queréis dar, y yo os lo entregaré? Y ellos le señalaron treinta piezas de plata.
16 Y desde entonces buscaba oportunidad para entregarle.
17 Y el primer día de la fiesta de los panes sin levadura, vinieron los discípulos á Jesús, diciéndole: ¿Dónde quieres que aderecemos para ti para comer la pascua?
18 Y él dijo: Id á la ciudad á cierto hombre, y decidle: El Maestro dice: Mi tiempo está cerca; en tu casa haré la pascua con mis discípulos.
19 Y los discípulos hicieron como Jesús les mandó, y aderezaron la pascua.
20 Y como fué la tarde del día, se sentó á la mesa con los doce.
21 Y comiendo ellos, dijo: De cierto os digo, que uno de vosotros me ha de entregar.
22 Y entristecidos ellos en gran manera, comenzó cada uno de ellos á decirle: ¿Soy yo, Señor?
23 Entonces él respondiendo, dijo: El que mete la mano conmigo en el plato, ése me ha de entregar.
24 A la verdad el Hijo del hombre va, como está escrito de él, mas ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien el Hijo del hombre es entregado! bueno le fuera al tal hombre no haber nacido.
25 Entonces respondiendo Judas, que le entregaba, dijo. ¿Soy yo, Maestro? Dícele: Tú lo has dicho.
26 Y comiendo ellos, tomó Jesús el pan, y bendijo, y lo partió, y dió á sus discípulos, y dijo: Tomad, comed: esto es mi cuerpo.
27 Y tomando el vaso, y hechas gracias, les dió, diciendo: Bebed de él todos;
28 Porque esto es mi sangre del nuevo pacto, la cual es derramada por muchos para remisión de los pecados.
29 Y os digo, que desde ahora no beberé más de este fruto de la vid, hasta aquel día, cuando lo tengo de beber nuevo con vosotros en el reino de mi Padre.
30 Y habiendo cantado el himno, salieron al monte de las Olivas.
31 Entonces Jesús les dice: Todos vosotros seréis escandalizados en mí esta noche; porque escrito está: Heriré al Pastor, y las ovejas de la manada serán dispersas.
32 Mas después que haya resucitado, iré delante de vosotros á Galilea.
33 Y respondiendo Pedro, le dijo: Aunque todos sean escandalizados en ti, yo nunca seré escandalizado.
34 Jesús le dice: De cierto te digo que esta noche, antes que el gallo cante, me negarás tres veces.
35 Dícele Pedro: Aunque me sea menester morir contigo, no te negaré. Y todos los discípulos dijeron lo mismo.
36 Entonces llegó Jesús con ellos á la aldea que se llama Gethsemaní, y dice á sus discípulos: Sentaos aquí, hasta que vaya allí y ore.
37 Y tomando á Pedro, y á los dos hijos de Zebedeo, comenzó á entristecerse y á angustiarse en gran manera.
38 Entonces Jesús les dice: Mi alma está muy triste hasta la muerte; quedaos aquí, y velad conmigo.
39 Y yéndose un poco más adelante, se postró sobre su rostro, orando, y diciendo: Padre mío, si es posible, pase de mí este vaso; empero no como yo quiero, sino como tú.
40 Y vino á sus discípulos, y los halló durmiendo, y dijo á Pedro: ¿Así no habéis podido velar conmigo una hora?
41 Velad y orad, para que no entréis en tentación: el espíritu á la verdad está presto, mas la carne enferma.
42 Otra vez fué, segunda vez, y oró diciendo: Padre mío, si no puede este vaso pasar de mí sin que yo lo beba, hágase tu voluntad.
43 Y vino, y los halló otra vez durmiendo; porque los ojos de ellos estaban agravados.
44 Y dejándolos fuése de nuevo, y oró tercera vez, diciendo las mismas palabras.
45 Entonces vino á sus discípulos y díceles: Dormid ya, y descansad: he aquí ha llegado la hora, y el Hijo del hombre es entregado en manos de pecadores.
46 Levantaos, vamos: he aquí ha llegado el que me ha entregado.
47 Y hablando aún él, he aquí Judas, uno de los doce, vino, y con él mucha gente con espadas y con palos, de parte de los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y de los ancianos del pueblo.
48 Y el que le entregaba les había dado señal, diciendo: Al que yo besare, aquél es: prendedle.
49 Y luego que llegó á Jesús, dijo: Salve, Maestro. Y le besó.
50 Y Jesús le dijo: Amigo, ¿á qué vienes? Entonces llegaron, y echaron mano á Jesús, y le prendieron.
51 Y he aquí, uno de los que estaban con Jesús, extendiendo la mano, sacó su espada, é hiriendo á un siervo del pontífice, le quitó la oreja.
52 Entonces Jesús le dice: Vuelve tu espada á su lugar; porque todos los que tomaren espada, á espada perecerán.
53 ¿Acaso piensas que no puedo ahora orar á mi Padre, y él me daría más de doce legiones de ángeles?
54 ¿Cómo, pues, se cumplirían las Escrituras, que así conviene que sea hecho?
55 En aquella hora dijo Jesús á las gentes: ¿Como á ladrón habéis salido con espadas y con palos á prenderme? Cada día me sentaba con vosotros enseñando en el templo, y no me prendisteis.
56 Mas todo esto se hace, para que se cumplan las Escrituras de los profetas. Entonces todos los discípulos huyeron, dejándole.
57 Y ellos, prendido Jesús, le llevaron á Caifás pontífice, donde los escribas y los ancianos estaban juntos.
58 Mas Pedro le seguía de lejos hasta el patio del pontífice; y entrando dentro, estábase sentado con los criados, para ver el fin.
59 Y los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los ancianos, y todo el consejo, buscaban falso testimonio contra Jesús, para entregarle á la muerte;
60 Y no lo hallaron, aunque muchos testigos falsos se llegaban; mas á la postre vinieron dos testigos falsos,
61 Que dijeron: Este dijo: Puedo derribar el templo de Dios, y en tres días reedificarlo.
62 Y levantándose el pontífice, le dijo: ¿No respondes nada? ¿qué testifican éstos contra ti?
63 Mas Jesús callaba. Respondiendo el pontífice, le dijo: Te conjuro por el Dios viviente, que nos digas si eres tú el Cristo, Hijo de Dios.
64 Jesús le dijo: Tú lo has dicho: y aun os digo, que desde ahora habéis de ver al Hijo del hombre sentado á la diestra de la potencia de Dios, y que viene en las nubes del cielo.
65 Entonces el pontífice rasgó sus vestidos, diciendo: Blasfemado ha: ¿qué más necesidad tenemos de testigos? He aquí, ahora habéis oído su blasfemia.
66 ¿Qué os parece? Y respondiendo ellos, dijeron: Culpado es de muerte.
67 Entonces le escupieron en el rostro, y le dieron de bofetadas; y otros le herían con mojicones,
68 Diciendo: Profetízanos tú, Cristo, quién es el que te ha herido.
69 Y Pedro estaba sentado fuera en el patio: y se llegó á él una criada, diciendo: Y tú con Jesús el Galileo estabas.
70 Mas él negó delante de todos, diciendo: No sé lo que dices.
71 Y saliendo él á la puerta, le vió otra, y dijo á los que estaban allí: También éste estaba con Jesús Nazareno.
72 Y negó otra vez con juramento: No conozco al hombre.
73 Y un poco después llegaron los que estaban por allí, y dijeron á Pedro: Verdaderamente también tú eres de ellos, porque aun tu habla te hace manifiesto.
74 Entonces comenzó á hacer imprecaciones, y á jurar, diciendo: No conozco al hombre. Y el gallo cantó luego.
75 Y se acordó Pedro de las palabras de Jesús, que le dijo: Antes que cante el gallo, me negarás tres veces. Y saliéndose fuera, lloró amargamente.

26 Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, that He said to His disciples, 2 (B)“You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”
3 (C)Then the chief priests, [a]the scribes, and the elders of the people assembled at the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, 4 and (D)plotted to take Jesus by [b]trickery and kill Him. 5 But they said, “Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar among the (E)people.”
The Anointing at Bethany(F)
6 And when Jesus was in (G)Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, 7 a woman came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured it on His head as He sat at the table. 8 (H)But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste? 9 For this fragrant oil might have been sold for much and given to the poor.”
10 But when Jesus was aware of it, He said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me. 11 (I)For you have the poor with you always, but (J)Me you do not have always. 12 For in pouring this fragrant oil on My body, she did it for My (K)burial. 13 Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.”
Judas Agrees to Betray Jesus(L)
14 (M)Then one of the twelve, called (N)Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests 15 and said, (O)“What are you willing to give me if I deliver Him to you?” And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver. 16 So from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.
Jesus Celebrates Passover with His Disciples(P)
17 (Q)Now on the first day of the Feast of the Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying to Him, “Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?”
18 And He said, “Go into the city to a certain man, and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, (R)“My time is at hand; I will keep the Passover at your house with My disciples.” ’ ”
19 So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them; and they prepared the Passover.
20 (S)When evening had come, He sat down with the twelve. 21 Now as they were eating, He said, “Assuredly, I say to you, one of you will (T)betray Me.”
22 And they were exceedingly sorrowful, and each of them began to say to Him, “Lord, is it I?”
23 He answered and said, (U)“He who dipped his hand with Me in the dish will betray Me. 24 The Son of Man indeed goes just (V)as it is written of Him, but (W)woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! (X)It would have been good for that man if he had not been born.”
25 Then Judas, who was betraying Him, answered and said, “Rabbi, is it I?”
He said to him, “You have said it.”
Jesus Institutes the Lord’s Supper(Y)

34 Jesus said to him, (AO)“Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”
35 Peter said to Him, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!”
And so said all the disciples.

42 Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, [h]if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.” 43 And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy.
44 So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. 45 Then He came to His disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour [i]is at hand, and the Son of Man is being (AZ)betrayed into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand.”
Betrayal and Arrest in Gethsemane(BA)
47 And (BB)while He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and elders of the people.

52 But Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, (BF)for all who take the sword will [j]perish by the sword. 53 Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with (BG)more than twelve legions of angels? 54 How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, (BH)that it must happen thus?”
55 In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to take Me? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple, and you did not seize Me. 56 But all this was done that the (BI)Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.”
Then (BJ)all the disciples forsook Him and fled.
Jesus Faces the Sanhedrin(BK)
57 (BL)And those who had laid hold of Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled. 58 But (BM)Peter followed Him at a distance to the high priest’s courtyard. And he went in and sat with the servants to see the end.
59 Now the chief priests, [k]the elders, and all the council sought (BN)false testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, 60 [l]but found none. Even though (BO)many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last (BP)two [m]false witnesses came forward 61 and said, “This fellow said, (BQ)‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days.’ ”
62 (BR)And the high priest arose and said to Him, “Do You answer nothing? What is it these men testify against You?” 63 But (BS)Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, (BT)“I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!”
64 Jesus said to him, “It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, (BU)hereafter you will see the Son of Man (BV)sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
65 (BW)Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His (BX)blasphemy! 66 What do you think?”
They answered and said, (BY)“He is deserving of death.”
67 (BZ)Then they spat in His face and beat Him; and (CA)others struck Him with [n]the palms of their hands, 68 saying, (CB)“Prophesy to us, Christ! Who is the one who struck You?”
Peter Denies Jesus, and Weeps Bitterly(CC)
69 (CD)Now Peter sat outside in the courtyard. And a servant girl came to him, saying, “You also were with Jesus of Galilee.”
70 But he denied it before them all, saying, “I do not know what you are saying.”
71 And when he had gone out to the gateway, another girl saw him and said to those who were there, “This fellow also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
72 But again he denied with an oath, “I do not know the Man!”
73 And a little later those who stood by came up and said to Peter, “Surely you also are one of them, for your (CE)speech betrays you.”
74 Then (CF)he began to [o]curse and [p]swear, saying, “I do not know the Man!”
Immediately a rooster crowed. 75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus who had said to him, (CG)“Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” So he went out and wept bitterly.

Complot para prender y matar a Jesús
26 Cuando[a] Jesús terminó todas estas palabras(A), dijo a Sus discípulos: 2 «(B)Ustedes saben que dentro de dos días se celebra la Pascua(C), y el Hijo del Hombre será[b]entregado(D)para ser crucificado».
3 Entonces los principales sacerdotes y los ancianos del pueblo se reunieron(E) en el patio del sumo sacerdote(F) llamado Caifás(G), 4 y con engaño, tramaron entre ellos prender y matar a Jesús(H). 5 Pero decían: «No durante la fiesta, para que no haya un tumulto en el pueblo(I)».
Jesús ungido en Betania
6 (J)Estando Jesús en Betania(K), en casa de Simón el leproso, 7 se acercó a Él una mujer con un frasco de alabastro de perfume muy costoso, y lo derramó sobre Su cabeza cuando estaba sentado[c] a la mesa. 8 Pero al ver esto, los discípulos se indignaron, y decían: «¿Para qué este desperdicio? 9 Porque este perfume podía haberse vendido a gran precio, y el dinero habérselo dado a los pobres».
10 Pero Jesús, dándose cuenta, les dijo: «¿Por qué molestan a la mujer? Pues buena es la obra que me ha hecho. 11 Porque a los pobres siempre los tendrán[d]con ustedes, pero a Mí no siempre me tendrán[e](L). 12 Pues al derramar ella este perfume sobre Mi cuerpo, lo ha hecho a fin de prepararme para la sepultura(M). 13 En verdad les digo, que dondequiera que este evangelio se predique, en el mundo entero, se hablará también de lo que esta ha hecho, en memoria de ella(N)».
Traición de Judas
14 (O)Entonces uno de los doce, llamado Judas Iscariote(P), fue a los principales sacerdotes, 15 y les dijo: «¿Qué están dispuestos a darme para que yo les entregue a Jesús(Q)?». Y ellos le pesaron treinta monedas de plata (30 siclos: 432 gramos)(R). 16 Y desde entonces Judas buscaba una oportunidad para entregar a Jesús.
Preparación de la Pascua
17 (S)El primer día de la Fiesta de los Panes sin Levadura[f](T), se acercaron los discípulos a Jesús, diciendo: «¿Dónde quieres que hagamos los preparativos para que comas la Pascua?». 18 Y Él respondió: «Vayan a la ciudad, a cierto hombre(U), y díganle: “El Maestro dice: ‘Mi tiempo está cerca(V); quiero celebrar la Pascua en tu casa con Mis discípulos’”». 19 Entonces los discípulos hicieron como Jesús les había mandado, y prepararon la Pascua.
Jesús identifica al traidor
20 (W)Al atardecer, estaba Jesús sentado[g] a la mesa con los doce discípulos. 21 Y mientras comían, dijo: «En verdad les digo que uno de ustedes me entregará(X)». 22 Ellos, profundamente entristecidos, comenzaron a decir uno por uno: «¿Acaso soy yo, Señor?». 23 Él respondió: «El que metió[h]la mano al mismo tiempo que Yo en el plato, ese me entregará(Y). 24 El Hijo del Hombre se va, según está escrito de Él(Z); pero ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien el Hijo del Hombre es entregado! Mejor le fuera a ese hombre no haber nacido[i](AA)». 25 Judas(AB), el que lo iba a entregar[j], dijo: «¿Acaso soy yo, Rabí[k](AC)?». «Tú lo has dicho(AD)», le contestó Jesús.
Institución de la Cena del Señor
26 (AE)Mientras comían, Jesús tomó pan, y habiéndolo bendecido, lo partió, y dándoselo a los discípulos(AF), dijo: «Tomen, coman; esto es Mi cuerpo». 27 Y tomando una copa, y habiendo dado gracias, se la dio, diciendo: «Beban todos de ella; 28 porque esto es Mi sangre del nuevo[l]pacto(AG), que es derramada por muchos(AH)para el perdón de los pecados. 29 Les digo que desde ahora no beberé más de este fruto de la vid, hasta aquel día cuando lo beba nuevo con ustedes en el reino de Mi Padre».
30 (AI)Y después de cantar un himno, salieron hacia el monte de los Olivos(AJ).
Jesús predice la negación de Pedro
31 Entonces Jesús les dijo*: «Esta noche todos ustedes se apartarán[m]por causa de Mí(AK), pues escrito está: “Heriré al pastor, y las ovejas del rebaño se dispersarán(AL)”. 32 Pero después de que Yo haya resucitado, iré delante de ustedes a Galilea(AM)». 33 Pedro le respondió: «Aunque todos se aparten[n] por causa de Ti, yo nunca me apartaré[o]». 34 Jesús le dijo: «En verdad te digo que esta misma noche, antes que el gallo cante, me negarás tres veces(AN)». 35 Pedro le dijo*: «Aunque tenga que morir(AO) junto a Ti, jamás te negaré». Todos los discípulos dijeron también lo mismo.
Jesús en Getsemaní
36 (AP)Entonces Jesús llegó* con ellos a un lugar que se llama Getsemaní, y dijo* a Sus discípulos: «Siéntense aquí mientras Yo voy allá y oro(AQ)». 37 Y tomando con Él a Pedro y a los dos hijos de Zebedeo(AR), comenzó a entristecerse y a angustiarse. 38 Entonces les dijo*: «Mi alma está muy afligida(AS), hasta el punto de la muerte; quédense aquí y velen junto a Mí(AT)».
39 Y adelantándose un poco, cayó sobre Su rostro, orando y diciendo: «Padre Mío, si es posible, que pase de Mí esta copa(AU); pero no sea como Yo quiero, sino como Tú quieras(AV)». 40 Entonces vino* Jesús a los discípulos y los halló* durmiendo, y dijo* a Pedro: «¿Conque no pudieron velar una hora junto a Mí(AW)? 41 Velen(AX)y oren para que no entren en tentación; el espíritu está dispuesto, pero la carne es débil(AY)».
42 Apartándose de nuevo, oró por segunda vez, diciendo: «Padre Mío, si esta copa no puede pasar sin que Yo la beba(AZ), hágase Tu voluntad(BA)». 43 Vino otra vez Jesús y los halló durmiendo, porque sus ojos estaban cargados de sueño. 44 Dejándolos de nuevo, se fue y oró por tercera vez, y dijo otra vez las mismas palabras[p]. 45 Entonces vino* a los discípulos y les dijo*: «¿Todavía están[q]durmiendo y descansando? Vean, ha llegado la hora(BB), y el Hijo del Hombre es entregado en manos de pecadores. 46 ¡Levántense! ¡Vamos! Miren, está cerca el que me entrega».
Arresto de Jesús
47 (BC)Mientras Jesús estaba todavía hablando, Judas(BD), uno de los doce[r], llegó acompañado de[s] una gran multitud con espadas y palos, de parte de los principales sacerdotes y de los ancianos del pueblo. 48 El que lo entregaba les había dado una señal, diciendo: «Al que yo bese, Él es; lo pueden prender». 49 Enseguida se acercó a Jesús y dijo: «¡Salve, Rabí(BE)!». Y lo besó[t]. 50 «Amigo(BF), haz lo que viniste a hacer», le dijo Jesús. Entonces ellos se acercaron, echaron mano a Jesús y lo arrestaron.
51 Y uno de los que estaban con Jesús, extendiendo la mano, sacó su espada(BG), e hiriendo al siervo del sumo sacerdote, le cortó[u] la oreja(BH). 52 Entonces Jesús le dijo*: «Vuelve tu espada a su sitio, porque todos los que tomen la espada, a espada perecerán(BI). 53 ¿O piensas que no puedo rogar a Mi Padre, y Él pondría a Mi disposición ahora mismo más de doce legiones[v](BJ)de ángeles(BK)? 54 Pero, ¿cómo se cumplirían entonces las Escrituras(BL)que dicen que así debe suceder?».
55 En aquel momento[w] Jesús dijo a la muchedumbre: «¿Cómo contra un ladrón han salido con espadas y palos para asegurarse que me arrestaban? Cada día me sentaba en el templo para enseñar(BM), y no me prendieron. 56 Pero todo esto ha sucedido para que se cumplan las Escrituras(BN)de los profetas». Entonces todos los discípulos lo abandonaron y huyeron.
Jesús ante el Concilio
57 (BO)Los que prendieron a Jesús lo llevaron ante el sumo sacerdote Caifás, donde estaban reunidos los escribas y los ancianos(BP). 58 Pedro fue siguiendo de lejos(BQ) a Jesús hasta el patio del sumo sacerdote(BR), y entrando[x], se sentó con los guardias[y](BS) para ver el fin de todo aquello.
59 Y los principales sacerdotes y todo el Concilio[z](BT) procuraban obtener falso testimonio contra Él, con el fin de dar muerte a Jesús, 60 y no lo hallaron a pesar de que se presentaron muchos falsos testigos. Pero más tarde se presentaron dos(BU), 61 que dijeron: «Este declaró: “Yo puedo destruir el templo[aa] de Dios y en[ab] tres días reedificarlo(BV)”».
62 Entonces el sumo sacerdote, levantándose, le dijo: «¿No respondes nada? ¿Qué testifican estos contra Ti?». 63 Pero Jesús se quedó callado(BW). Y el sumo sacerdote le dijo(BX): «Te ordeno(BY) por el Dios viviente(BZ) que nos digas si Tú eres el Cristo, el Hijo de Dios(CA)». 64 Jesús le contestó*: «Tú mismo lo has dicho(CB); sin embargo, a ustedes les digo que desde ahora verán al Hijo del Hombre sentado a la diestra del Poder(CC), y viniendo sobre las nubes del cielo(CD)».
65 Entonces el sumo sacerdote rasgó sus vestiduras, diciendo: «¡Ha blasfemado! ¿Qué necesidad tenemos de más testigos(CE)? Ahora mismo ustedes han oído la blasfemia. 66 ¿Qué les parece?». «¡Él es digno de muerte(CF)!», le contestaron. 67 Entonces le escupieron en el rostro y le dieron puñetazos; y otros lo abofeteaban[ac](CG), 68 y le decían: «Adivina[ad], Cristo, ¿quién es el que te ha golpeado(CH)?».
La negación de Pedro
69 (CI)Pedro estaba sentado afuera en el patio(CJ), y una sirvienta se le acercó y dijo: «Tú también estabas con Jesús el galileo». 70 Pero él lo negó delante de todos ellos, diciendo: «No sé de qué hablas».
71 Cuando salió al portal, lo vio otra sirvienta y dijo* a los que estaban allí: «Este estaba con Jesús el Nazareno». 72 Y otra vez él lo negó con juramento: «¡Yo no conozco a ese[ae] hombre!».
73 Un poco después se acercaron los que estaban allí y dijeron a Pedro: «Seguro que tú también eres uno de ellos, porque aun tu manera de hablar te descubre(CK)». 74 Entonces él comenzó a maldecir y a jurar: «¡Yo no conozco al hombre!». Y al instante un gallo cantó. 75 Pedro se acordó de lo que[af] Jesús había dicho: «Antes que el gallo cante, me negarás tres veces(CL)». Y saliendo afuera, lloró amargamente.
