28 Han svarade: En ovän har gjort det. Tjänarna frågade honom: Vill du att vi skall gå och samla ihop det? 29 Nej, svarade han, om ni rensar bort ogräset, kan ni på samma gång rycka upp vetet. 30 Låt båda växa tillsammans fram till skörden. Och när skördetiden är inne, skall jag säga till skördemännen: Samla först ihop ogräset och bind det i knippen som skall brännas upp, men vetet skall ni samla in i min loge."

28 “‘An enemy did this,’ he replied.
“The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’
29 “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’”(A)

28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but (A)gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ”
