¹⁹ Go, therefore, and make disciples^(A) of^[a] all nations,^(B) baptising^(C) them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰ teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember,^[b] I am with you always,^[c] to the end of the age.’^(D)

⁴⁶ He also said to them, ‘This is what is written:^[a] The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead the third day,^{(A) 47} and repentance for^[b] forgiveness of sins^(B) will be proclaimed in his name to all the nations,^(C) beginning at Jerusalem.^(D)

⁸ But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’^(A)

⁹ But you are a chosen race,^[a][b](A) a royal priesthood,^[c](B) a holy nation,^[d](C) a people for his possession,^[e](D) so that you may proclaim the praises^[f][g](E) of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.^{(F) 10} Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; you had not received mercy,^(G) but now you have received mercy.
