57 Nianang pagkahapon may miabot nga usa ka adunahan nga tawo nga taga-Arimatea. Jose ang iyang ngalan ug tinun-an usab siya ni Jesus. 58 Giadtoan niya si Pilato ug gipangayo ang patayng lawas ni Jesus. Unya mimando si Pilato nga ihatag kini kang Jose. 59 Gikuha ni Jose ang patayng lawas ni Jesus ug gibuliboran niya sa bag-ong panapton nga puti. 60 May bag-o nga lubnganan si Jose nga gikabhang didto sa bakilid nga iyang gipabuhat alang sa iyang kaugalingon. Didto niya gipahimutang ang patayng lawas ni Jesus. Unya giligid niya ang dako nga bato aron sa pagsira sa pultahan sa lubnganan. Human niini milakaw siya. 61 Nagpabilin didto si Maria nga taga-Magdala ug ang usa pa gayod ka Maria. Nanglingkod sila nga nagaatubang sa lubnganan.

The Burial of Jesus(A)

57 As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus. 58 Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him. 59 Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 and placed it in his own new tomb(B) that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away. 61 Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb.

Then Pilate commanded the body to be given to him. 59 When Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 and (C)laid it in his new tomb which he had hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb, and departed. 61 And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting [a]opposite the tomb.
