52 The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of (A)the saints (B)who had fallen asleep were raised, 53 and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into (C)the holy city and appeared to many. 54 (D)When the centurion and those who were with him, (E)keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe and said, (F)“Truly this was the Son[a] of God!”

52 tombs were opened, and many[a] saints who had died[b] were brought back to life. 53 After his resurrection, they came out of their tombs, went into the Holy City,[c] and appeared to many people.
54 When the centurion[d] and those guarding Jesus with him saw the earthquake and the other things that were taking place, they were terrified and said, “This man certainly was the Son of God!”

52 and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. 53 They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and[a] went into the holy city(A) and appeared to many people.
54 When the centurion and those with him who were guarding(B) Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!”(C)
