3 Judas zag dat Jezus ter dood veroordeeld werd. Toen kreeg hij spijt dat hij Hem had verraden. Hij bracht de 30 zilverstukken terug naar de leiders van de priesters en de leiders van het volk. 4 Hij riep: "Ik heb verkeerd gedaan! Ik heb een onschuldig mens verraden!" Maar ze zeiden: "Wat kan ons dat schelen! Je moet zelf maar zien wat ervan komt!" 5 Judas gooide de 30 zilverstukken de tempel in. Toen liep hij weg en hing zichzelf op.

3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

3 When Judas, who had betrayed him,(A) saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver(B) to the chief priests and the elders. 4 “I have sinned,” he said, “for I have betrayed innocent blood.”
“What is that to us?” they replied. “That’s your responsibility.”(C)
5 So Judas threw the money into the temple(D) and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.(E)
