26 Nakon što je Isus sve to izgovorio, obratio se učenicima: 2 »Znate da je za dva dana Pasha i Sin Čovječji bit će predan da ga razapnu.«
3 U to su se doba svećenički poglavari i narodni starješine okupili u palači vrhovnoga svećenika, po imenu Kaifa, 4 te su se dogovorili da Isusa na prevaru uhvate i ubiju. 5 No rekli su: »Ne smijemo to učiniti tijekom blagdana, da se narod ne bi pobunio.«

26 (A)When Jesus had finished all these words, He said to His disciples, 2 “(B)You know that after two days (C)the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man is to be (D)handed over for crucifixion.”
3 (E)Then the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together in (F)the court of the high priest, named (G)Caiaphas; 4 and they (H)plotted together to seize Jesus by stealth and kill Him. 5 But they were saying, “Not during the festival, (I)otherwise a riot might occur among the people.”

The Plot Against Jesus(A)
26 When Jesus had finished saying all these things,(B) he said to his disciples, 2 “As you know, the Passover(C) is two days away—and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”
3 Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled(D) in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,(E) 4 and they schemed to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him.(F) 5 “But not during the festival,” they said, “or there may be a riot(G) among the people.”
