²⁰The disciples were shocked when they saw how quickly the tree had dried up. ²¹^(A) But Jesus said to them, “If you have faith and don't doubt, I promise you can do what I did to this tree. And you will be able to do even more. You can tell this mountain to get up and jump into the sea, and it will. ²²If you have faith when you pray, you will be given whatever you ask for.”

The Lesson of the Withered Fig Tree^(A)

²⁰^(B)And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither away so soon?”

²¹So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, ^(C)if you have faith and ^(D)do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, ^(E)but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done. ²²And ^(F)whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

²¹Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

²²And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
