⁸He said to them, “Moses, because of the ^(A)hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your ^(B)wives, but from the beginning it was not so.

⁸Jesus^[a] said to them, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of your hard hearts,^[b] but from the beginning it was not this way.
