²⁷ “All things have been committed to me^(A) by my Father.^(B) No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.^(C)

The Word Became Flesh

1 In the beginning was the Word,^(A) and the Word was with God,^(B) and the Word was God.^{(C) 2} He was with God in the beginning.^(D)

¹⁸ No one has ever seen God,^(A) but the one and only Son, who is himself God and^[a](B) is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

⁷ If you really know me, you will know^[a] my Father as well.^(A) From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

³ The Son is the radiance of God’s glory^(A) and the exact representation of his being,^(B) sustaining all things^(C) by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins,^(D) he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.^(E)
