Jesus Heals Two Men with Demons

^28 (A)And when he came to the other side, to the country of the Gadarenes,^[a] two ^(B)demon-possessed^[b] men met him, coming out of the tombs, so fierce that no one could pass that way. ²⁹ And behold, they ^(C)cried out, “What have you to do with us, ^(D)O Son of God? Have you come here to torment us ^(E)before the time?”

⁶ And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and ^(A)fell down before him. ⁷ And ^(B)crying out with a loud voice, he said, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, ^(C)Son of ^(D)the Most High God? ^(E)I adjure you by God, do not torment me.” ⁸ For he was saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” ⁹ And Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He replied, “My name is ^(F)Legion, for we are many.” ¹⁰ And he begged him earnestly not to send them out of the country.
