¹⁸ You are Peter, a stone; and upon this rock I will build my church; and all the powers of hell shall not prevail against it.

¹⁸ He is the Head of the body made up of his people—that is, his Church—which he began; and he is the Leader of all those who arise from the dead,^[a] so that he is first in everything;

²² And God has put all things under his feet and made him the supreme Head of the Church— ²³ which is his body, filled with himself, the Author and Giver of everything everywhere.
