The Son Gives Knowledge and Rest

²⁵ At that time Jesus said,^(A) “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants.^{(B) 26} Yes, Father, because this was your good pleasure.^{[a] 27} All things have been entrusted to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son desires^[b] to reveal him.^(C)

¹⁷ Jesus responded, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah,^[a](A) because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven.^(B)
