A House Divided Cannot Stand^(A)

^14 (B)And He was casting out a demon, and it was mute. So it was, when the demon had gone out, that the mute spoke; and the multitudes marveled.

³² Then ^(A)they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him. ³³ And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers in his ears, and ^(B)He spat and touched his tongue. ³⁴ Then, ^(C)looking up to heaven, ^(D)He sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.”

^35 (E)Immediately his ears were opened, and the ^[a]impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly. ³⁶ Then ^(F)He commanded them that they should tell no one; but the more He commanded them, the more widely they proclaimed it. ³⁷ And they were ^(G)astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He ^(H)makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.”

¹¹ So the Lord said to him, ^(A)“Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord? ¹² Now therefore, go, and I will be ^(B)with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.”

⁹ When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him, “I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!”

^30 (A)Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, ^[a]maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ ^(B)feet, and He healed them. ³¹ So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the ^[b]maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they ^(C)glorified the God of Israel.

²⁰ You have set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, to this day, and in Israel and among other men; and You have made Yourself ^(A)a name, as it is this day.
