9 Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town.^(B)

¹³ Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum,^(A) which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali—

³⁷ Then all the people of the region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them,^(A) because they were overcome with fear. So he got into the boat and left.

²¹ When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake,^(B) a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake.^(C)

The Cost of Following Jesus^(A)

¹⁸ When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he gave orders to cross to the other side of the lake.^(B)

⁶ “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

¹¹ Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.”^(A)
