⁸ The centurion answered, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only speak the word, and my servant^[a] will be healed.^(A)

⁶ And Jesus went with them, but when he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to say to him, “Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof; ⁷ therefore I did not presume to come to you. But only speak the word, and let my servant be healed.

²⁵ But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet and come out of him!”^{(A) 26} And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him. ²⁷ They were all amazed, and they kept on asking one another, “What is this? A new teaching—with authority! He^[a] commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.”^(B)

³ He stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing. Be made clean!” Immediately his skin disease was cleansed.

⁸ But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’s knees, saying, “Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man!”

²⁶ He answered, “It is not fair to take the children’s food and throw it to the dogs.” ²⁷ She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’^[a] table.”

²⁷ the one who is coming after me; I am not worthy to untie the strap of his sandal.”

¹¹ “I baptize you with^[a] water for repentance, but the one who is coming after me is more powerful than I, and I am not worthy to carry his sandals. He will baptize you with^[b] the Holy Spirit and fire.^(A)
