⁸ For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

⁴² And he said, “Jesus, remember me ^(A)when you come into your kingdom.” ⁴³ And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in ^(B)paradise.”

²² And behold, ^(A)a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, ^(B)“Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.” ²³ But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, ^(C)“Send her away, for she is crying out after us.” ²⁴ He answered, ^(D)“I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” ²⁵ But she came and ^(E)knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.” ²⁶ And he answered, “It is not right to take the children's bread and ^(F)throw it to the dogs.” ²⁷ She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat ^(G)the crumbs that fall from their masters' table.” ²⁸ Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, ^(H)great is your faith! ^(I)Be it done for you as you desire.” ^(J)And her daughter was ^(K)healed instantly.^[a]

¹¹ And the Lord said to him, “Rise and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas look for a man ^(A)of Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying,

^8 (A)The wind^[a] blows ^(B)where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

⁹ Nicodemus said to him, ^(C)“How can these things be?” ¹⁰ Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel ^(D)and yet you do not understand these things?

¹⁹ And his prayer, and how ^(A)God was moved by his entreaty, and all his sin and his faithlessness, and the sites ^(B)on which he built high places and set up the ^(C)Asherim and the images, before ^(D)he humbled himself, behold, they are written in the Chronicles of the Seers.^[a]

² Jesus also was invited to the wedding with ^(A)his disciples.
