³ But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

⁴ for no one who wants^[a] to be widely known acts in secret. If you do these things, show yourself to the world.”

⁴⁴ saying to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded as a testimony to them.”^(A)
