⁴⁸ Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.^(A)

¹⁵ But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do;^{(A) 16} for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”^[a](B)

⁴ Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature^(A) and complete, not lacking anything.

² “Speak to the entire assembly of Israel^(A) and say to them: ‘Be holy because I, the Lord your God,^(B) am holy.^(C)

³⁶ Be merciful,^(A) just as your Father^(B) is merciful.

¹³ You must be blameless^(A) before the Lord your God.^(B)

5 ¹ Follow God’s example,^(A) therefore, as dearly loved children^{(B) 2} and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us^(C) and gave himself up for us^(D) as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.^(E)

²⁸ He is the one we proclaim, admonishing^(A) and teaching everyone with all wisdom,^(B) so that we may present everyone fully mature^(C) in Christ.

³ All who have this hope in him purify themselves,^(A) just as he is pure.^(B)
