^29 (B)Jesus departed from there, ^(C)skirted the Sea of Galilee, and went up on the mountain and sat down there.

4 And ^(B)again He began to teach by the sea. And a great multitude was gathered to Him, so that He got into a boat and sat in it on the sea; and the whole multitude was on the land facing the sea.

² Then a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His signs which He performed on those who were ^(A)diseased.^{[a] 3} And Jesus went up on the mountain, and there He sat with His disciples.

A House Divided Cannot Stand^(A)

²⁰ Then the multitude came together again, ^(B)so that they could not so much as eat bread.

^25 (A)Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from ^[a]Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.

¹³ And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; ^(A)and from them He chose ^(B)twelve whom He also named apostles: ¹⁴ Simon, ^(C)whom He also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew; ¹⁵ Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called the Zealot; ¹⁶ Judas ^(D)the son of James, and ^(E)Judas Iscariot who also became a traitor.

^2 (A)And great multitudes were gathered together to Him, so that ^(B)He got into a boat and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
