^5 (A)Then the devil took him to ^(B)the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple

^9 (A)And he took him to Jerusalem and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him, “If you are ^(B)the Son of God, throw yourself down from here,

² but do not measure ^(A)the court outside the temple; leave that out, for ^(B)it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for ^(C)forty-two months.

⁵³ and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into ^(A)the holy city and appeared to many.

¹¹ Jesus answered him, ^(A)“You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above. Therefore ^(B)he who delivered me over to you ^(C)has the greater sin.”

The Seventy Weeks

^24 (A)“Seventy weeks^[a] are decreed about your people and ^(B)your holy city, to finish ^(C)the transgression, to put an end to sin, ^(D)and to atone for iniquity, ^(E)to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and ^(F)to anoint a most holy place.^[b]

¹⁶ “O Lord, ^(A)according to all your righteous acts, let your anger and your wrath turn away from your city Jerusalem, ^(B)your holy hill, ^(C)because for our sins, and for ^(D)the iniquities of our fathers, ^(E)Jerusalem and your people have become ^(F)a byword among all who are around us.
