¹⁷ From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, because the kingdom of heaven^(A) has come near.”

² And the Pharisees and scribes were complaining, “This man welcomes sinners^(A) and eats with them.”

³⁸ Peter replied, “Repent^(A) and be baptized,^(B) each of you, in the name^(C) of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

¹³ If you then, who are evil,^(A) know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father^(B) give the Holy Spirit^(C) to those who ask him?”
