¹¹ Then the devil left him,^(A) and angels came and attended him.^(B)

⁵³ Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?^(A)

¹⁴ Are not all angels ministering spirits^(A) sent to serve those who will inherit^(B) salvation?^(C)

⁴³ An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.^(A)

¹¹ Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand.^(A) They encircled the throne and the living creatures^(B) and the elders.^{(C) 12} In a loud voice they were saying:

⁶ And again, when God brings his firstborn^(A) into the world,^(B) he says,

³⁰ I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world^(A) is coming. He has no hold over me,

⁵³ Every day I was with you in the temple courts,^(A) and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour^(B)—when darkness reigns.”^(C)

¹³ When the devil had finished all this tempting,^(A) he left him^(B) until an opportune time.
