⁷ But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, ^(A)“Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from ^(B)the wrath to come?

^34 (A)Brood^[a] of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? ^(B)For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

¹⁰ and ^(A)to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us ^(B)from the wrath to come.

God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness

^18 (A)For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and ^(B)unrighteousness of men, who ^[a]suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

³³ Serpents, ^(A)brood^[a] of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?

^9 (A)These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and ^(B)from the glory of His power, ¹⁰ when He comes, in that Day, ^(C)to be ^(D)glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who ^[a]believe, because our testimony among you was believed.

⁹ Much more then, having now been justified ^(A)by His blood, we shall be saved ^(B)from wrath through Him.

The Sadducees: What About the Resurrection?^(A)

^23 (B)The same day the Sadducees, ^(C)who say there is no resurrection, came to Him and asked Him,

⁶ Then Jesus said to them, ^(A)“Take heed and beware of the ^[a]leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.”
