¹⁵ But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for it is proper for us in this way to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented.

³⁴ Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to complete his work.^(A)

¹⁰ If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.^(A)

¹⁵ For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.^(A)

Israel’s Disobedience

⁶ whoever says, “I abide in him,” ought to walk in the same way as he walked.^(A)

²¹ For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps.^(A)

²³ When he was abused, he did not return abuse; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but he entrusted himself to the one who judges justly.^{(B) 24} He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross,^[a] so that, having died to sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds^[b] you have been healed.^(C)

⁶ Both of them were righteous before God, living blamelessly according to all the commandments and regulations of the Lord.^(A)
