² And behold, there was a great earthquake; for ^(A)an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone ^[a]from the door, and sat on it.

¹² And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. ¹³ Then they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?”

She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.”

^2 (A)But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. ^3 (B)Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. ⁴ And it happened, as they were ^[a]greatly perplexed about this, that ^(C)behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. ⁵ Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?

^26 (A)Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately ^(B)all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.

³ And they said among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?” ⁴ But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away—for it was very large. ^5 (A)And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.

¹⁶ And without controversy great is the ^[a]mystery of godliness:

The Empty Tomb^(A)

20 Now the ^(B)first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the ^(C)stone had been taken away from the tomb.

⁵¹ Then, behold, ^(A)the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, ⁵² and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; ⁵³ and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

¹⁹ Then ^(A)the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of ^[a]His covenant was seen in His temple. And ^(B)there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, ^(C)and great hail.
