^38 (A)Then two robbers were crucified with Him, one on the right and another on the left.

¹⁸ where they crucified Him, and ^(A)two others with Him, one on either side, and Jesus in the center.

Jesus’ Side Is Pierced

^31 (A)Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, ^(B)that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a ^(C)high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. ³² Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him. ³³ But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. ³⁴ But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately ^(D)blood and water came out. ³⁵ And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is ^(E)true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may ^(F)believe.

^32 (A)There were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death. ³³ And ^(B)when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left.

^39 (A)Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, ^[a]“If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.”

⁴⁰ But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? ⁴¹ And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done ^(B)nothing wrong.” ⁴² Then he said ^[b]to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”

⁴³ And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in ^(C)Paradise.”

^27 (A)With Him they also crucified two robbers, one on His right and the other on His left.

^44 (A)Even the robbers who were crucified with Him reviled Him with the same thing.

³⁷ For I say to you that this which is written must still be ^[a]accomplished in Me: ^(A)‘And He was numbered with the transgressors.’ For the things concerning Me have an end.”
