³⁵ And when they had crucified him, ^(A)they divided his garments among them by casting lots.

²⁴ And they crucified him and ^(A)divided his garments among them, casting lots for them, to decide what each should take. ²⁵ And ^(B)it was the third hour^[a] when they crucified him. ²⁶ And the inscription of the charge against him read, ^(C)“The King of the Jews.” ²⁷ And with him they crucified two ^(D)robbers, ^(E)one on his right and one on his left.^{[b] 29} And ^(F)those who passed by derided him, ^(G)wagging their heads and saying, ^(H)“Aha! ^(I)You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, ³⁰ save yourself, and come down from the cross!” ³¹ So also the chief priests with the scribes mocked him to one another, saying, ^(J)“He saved others; ^(K)he cannot save himself. ³² Let ^(L)the Christ, ^(M)the King of Israel, come down now from the cross that we may ^(N)see and believe.” ^(O)Those who were crucified with him also reviled him.

³⁴ And Jesus said, “Father, ^(A)forgive them, ^(B)for they know not what they do.”^[a] And they cast lots ^(C)to divide his garments.

^23 (A)When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his garments and divided them into four parts, one part for each soldier; also his tunic.^[a] But the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom, ²⁴ so they said to one another, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it shall be.” ^(B)This was to fulfill the Scripture which says,

So the soldiers did these things,

¹⁰ let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that ^(A)by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, ^(B)whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well.

²⁷ Then he said to Thomas, ^(A)“Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.”

²⁵ So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, ^(A)“Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.”
