¹⁶ And they had then a notorious prisoner called Barabbas.

⁷ And among the rebels in prison, who had ^(A)committed murder ^(B)in the insurrection, there was a man called Barabbas.

³² Though they know ^(A)God's righteous decree that those who practice such things ^(B)deserve to die, they not only do them but ^(C)give approval to those who practice them.

¹⁴ But you denied ^(A)the Holy and ^(B)Righteous One, and ^(C)asked for a murderer to be granted to you,

⁴⁰ They cried out again, ^(A)“Not this man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.^[a]

²⁵ He released the man who had been thrown into prison ^(A)for insurrection and murder, for whom they asked, ^(B)but he delivered Jesus over to their will.

^18 (A)But they all cried out together, ^(B)“Away with this man, and release to us Barabbas”— ¹⁹ a man who had been thrown into prison for an insurrection started in the city and ^(C)for murder.
