¹³ Then Pilate said to him, “Do you not hear how many accusations they make against you?”^(A)

⁶² The high priest stood up and said, “Have you no answer? What is it that they testify against you?”

²⁴ the tribune directed that he was to be brought into the barracks and ordered him to be examined by flogging, to find out the reason for this outcry against him.

³⁵ Pilate replied, “I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests have handed you over to me. What have you done?”
