⁷¹ And when he went out to the entrance, another servant girl saw him, and she said to the bystanders, “This man was with Jesus ^(A)of Nazareth.”

Peter Denies Jesus Again

^25 (A)Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. So they said to him, “You also are not one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it and said, “I am not.” ²⁶ One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of ^(B)the man whose ear Peter had cut off, asked, “Did I not see you ^(C)in the garden with him?” ²⁷ Peter again denied it, and ^(D)at once a rooster crowed.

⁵⁸ And a little later someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not.”

⁶⁸ But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you mean.” And he went out into the gateway^[a] and ^(A)the rooster crowed.^{[b] 69} And the servant girl saw him and began again to say to the bystanders, “This man is one of them.”
