Pilate Delivers Jesus to Be Crucified

²⁴ So when Pilate saw that he was gaining nothing, but rather that ^(A)a riot was beginning, he took water and ^(B)washed his hands before the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of ^(C)this man's blood;^{[a] (D)}see to it yourselves.”

²⁶ But if we say, ‘From man,’ ^(A)we are afraid of the crowd, for they all hold that John was ^(B)a prophet.”

⁵ And though he wanted to put him to death, ^(A)he feared the people, because they held him to be ^(B)a prophet.

²⁷ And Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written, ‘I will ^(A)strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’

The Passover with the Disciples

^12 (A)And on ^(B)the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they ^(C)sacrificed the Passover lamb, his disciples said to him, “Where will you have us go and prepare for you to eat the Passover?”
