⁴ but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps.

⁹ But you are not in the flesh; you are in the Spirit,^[a] since the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.^(A)

²⁷ As for you, the anointing that you received from him abides in you, so you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, abide in him.^[a](A)

³⁴ He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure.^(A)

²⁰ But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and all of you have knowledge.^[a](A)

¹⁹ It is these worldly people, devoid of the Spirit, who are causing divisions.

The Fruit of the Spirit

²² By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness,^{(A) 23} gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things.

² He said to me, “What do you see?” And I said, “I see a lampstand all of gold, with a bowl on the top of it; there are seven lamps on it, with seven lips on each of the lamps that are on the top of it.^{(A) 3} And by it there are two olive trees, one on the right of the bowl and the other on its left.”^(B)
