⁴ The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.

²⁷ As for you, the anointing^(A) you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things^(B) and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.^(C)

⁹ You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh^(A) but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you.^(B) And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ,^(C) they do not belong to Christ.

³⁴ For the one whom God has sent^(A) speaks the words of God, for God^[a] gives the Spirit^(B) without limit.

²⁰ But you have an anointing^(A) from the Holy One,^(B) and all of you know the truth.^[a](C)

¹⁹ These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.^(A)

²² But the fruit^(A) of the Spirit is love,^(B) joy, peace,^(C) forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness and self-control.^(D) Against such things there is no law.^(E)

¹⁵ (John testified^(A) concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’”)^{(B) 16} Out of his fullness^(C) we have all received grace^(D) in place of grace already given.
