¹⁹ Now ^(A)after a long time the master of those servants came and ^(B)settled accounts with them.

¹² Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— ^13 (A)each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed ^(B)by fire, and ^(C)the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. ¹⁴ If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, ^(D)he will receive a reward. ¹⁵ If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, ^(E)but only as through fire.

¹⁰ For ^(A)we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, ^(B)so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

⁷ For ^(A)none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. ⁸ For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, ^(B)whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's. ⁹ For to this end Christ ^(C)died and lived again, that he might be Lord both ^(D)of the dead and of the living.

¹⁰ Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For ^(E)we will all stand before ^(F)the judgment seat of God; ¹¹ for it is written,

¹² So then ^(H)each of us will give an account of himself to God.

The Parable of the Dishonest Manager

16 He also said to the disciples, “There was a rich man who had ^(A)a manager, and charges were brought to him that this man was wasting his possessions. ² And he called him and said to him, ‘What is this that I hear about you? Turn in the account of your ^(B)management, for you can no longer be manager.’

⁵ As the bridegroom ^(A)was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept.

⁴⁸ But if that wicked servant says to himself, ‘My master ^(A)is delayed,’

²³ “Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished ^(A)to settle accounts with his servants.^{[a] 24} When he began to settle, one was brought to him who owed him ^(B)ten thousand ^(C)talents.^[b]
