¹⁰ And while they went to buy it, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went with him into the wedding banquet, and the door was shut.^(A)

²⁵ Once the owner of the house has got up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us,’ then in reply he will say to you, ‘I do not know where you come from.’^(A)

A Call to Holy Living

¹³ Therefore prepare your minds for action;^[a] discipline yourselves; set all your hope on the grace that Jesus Christ will bring you when he is revealed.^(A)

³⁶ be like those who are waiting for their master to return from the wedding banquet, so that they may open the door for him as soon as he comes and knocks. ³⁷ Blessed are those slaves whom the master finds alert when he comes; truly I tell you, he will fasten his belt and have them sit down to eat, and he will come and serve them.^(A)

⁴⁴ Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.^(A)

²⁰ The one who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.”

Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!^(A)

⁶ But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Look! Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’

¹⁶ And those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him, and the Lord shut him in.^(A)
