⁵ For ^(A)many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am ^(B)the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray.

²⁴ For ^(A)false christs and ^(B)false prophets will arise and ^(C)perform great signs and wonders, ^(D)so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

Warning Concerning Antichrists

¹⁸ Children, ^(A)it is the last hour, and as you have heard that ^(B)antichrist is coming, so now ^(C)many antichrists have come. ^(D)Therefore we know that it is the last hour.

¹¹ And many ^(A)false prophets will arise ^(B)and lead many astray.

¹⁴ And the Lord said to me: “The ^(A)prophets are prophesying lies in my name. ^(B)I did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a lying vision, ^(C)worthless divination, and ^(D)the deceit of their own minds.

Simon the Magician Believes

⁹ But there was a man named Simon, ^(A)who had previously practiced magic in the city and amazed the people of Samaria, ^(B)saying that he himself was somebody great. ¹⁰ They all paid attention to him, from the least to the greatest, saying, ^(C)“This man is the power of God that is called ^(D)Great.”

²⁵ I have heard what the prophets have said ^(A)who prophesy lies in my name, saying, ^(B)‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’

³⁶ For ^(A)before these days Theudas rose up, ^(B)claiming to be somebody, and a number of men, about four hundred, joined him. He was killed, and all who followed him were dispersed and came to nothing. ³⁷ After him Judas the Galilean rose up in the days of ^(C)the census and drew away some of the people after him. He too perished, and all who followed him were scattered.

⁴³ I have come ^(A)in my Father's name, and ^(B)you do not receive me. ^(C)If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.
